Actually my life is pretty boring so far, though I'd love to change that. I really don't get out much other than a ride to and from work, and I'd really love to change that, and get out more. I can't "legally" drive. (eye problems). I barely fail the test. but glasses don't help.

I love to travel, especially road trips. The longest road trip I've been on was from Winchester, VA to Mesa, AZ. Just ask and I'll tell you the whole story.

I like 4-wheeling, mud bogging, Fishing, camping, pretty much anything outside, even if it's just sitting around doing nothing. Not being able to drive makes it really hard to get out and do the things that I am interested in.

I am a pretty easy going country boy (my friends at work say I'm a redneck, but whatever). It really takes A LOT to piss me off, but when that does happen, I have a hell of a temper.

I'm not afraid of a little hard work, or to get my hands dirty. I'll try to fix just about anything, and sometimes end up in an epic fail, but oh well.

I've been told that I'm a charmer, I don't know why, I just try to be nice. I think I have a good sense of humor. I can however be a bit sarcastic at times, that's just my nature. I am a little quiet, at first, around people that I don't really know. But once I get used to talking to someone, or actually get to know them, I am not as quiet. I love to laugh, I like to make people laugh.

All in all, I think I'm pretty easy to get along with. I'm not trying to say that I'm perfect, I am not, nobody is.

I would really like to meet someone who shares similar interests. someone who could like me for me. And just to throw it out there. I would have no problem dating someone with kids/a kid. Creativity, intelligence (as in clever and smart with a lot of common sense) and humor are essential in my life. Laughing and thinking are two of the things I do best. I've spent my career being a writer, reporter, editor, graphic designer, photographer and painter -- sometimes all at once. I work in higher education and, when time permits, I take classes, studying scenic and lighting design for theatre.

I grew up in New Jersey and have lived at different times in Maryland, Florida, West Virginia and Virginia. I try to get to Philadelphia or New York City a few times a year; those cities are feasts for the senses! I appreciate architecture, typography and the details craftsmen of all sorts put in their work.

Everything is interesting to me -- except shopping. I hate shopping, unless it involves old junk shops. I have always enjoyed motorcycles; I got my cycle license when I was 16, though it's been a long while since I've owned one. I'm tempted now, except it appears you have to wear a uniform of too-tight denim and leather with studs. Not my scene. I don't like being the member of any club -- almost as much as I hate office meetings.

I'm on the fence about the whole God thing. But, if He does exist, and if He did create us all in his image, I believe that means everyone (not just white Americans).

It's a big world, and I'd like to see more of it, although that's more a dream. I'd be happy to see more of the United States -- in a truck with an old tag-along trailer would be awesome.

In my estimation, my best qualities are my humor, my honesty, my compassion and my ability to work hard. I'm a good friend.

I actually read quite a bit, and believe it or not I read profiles on here. My training in psych gave me a love of learning about what a person is about before diving into messaging.

Because of this tendency to want to know who a person is, I can appear almost shy when I first meet someone. But don't mistake that for timidness. I'm just absorbing who you are as a person to figure out how to act around you. Don't try to pull anything over my eyes. I will not only notice, but I will not have any problem calling you out on it.

If you are a completely honest and up-front person, we will get along much better. That being said, I strive to always tell the truth. If you ask me something, I will more than likely tell you how I feel about it. Don't take this as callousness or hatred for something, but rather my complete and honest opinion.
